Helmut Newton
The model in this image is off-centre, which creates the rule of thirds. Her body is also jaunting out at a lot of different angles which makes this an interesting image to look at. Her leg being up creates a shape that is normally seen, it also makes it appear as if there is almost only one leg, and therefore less space is covered in the bottom half of the image, meaning our attention is drawn to the top where the most is going on. Having her right arm out, along with the bag hanging off, means that the majority of the frame is covered here, and makes the model command more attention. When you look at this image from the top half, it appears as though the model is dressed up to go somewhere nice, however the bottom half shows that she only has underwear on, although she is still wearing heels. Both halves of this image contrast, as one depicts glamour and the other sex appeal.
The model's hair and makeup, along with the fur coat, all imply glamour and class. However, her suggestive pose implies something very different. The coat barely covers her modesty but in doing so still maintains that little bit of class. The fact that she has both her legs and arms spread out, means she takes up more of the frame, and therefore appears more bold and eye catching.
Although this image has not been took in a studio, and is not posed in a way that she is stood up looking at the camera, we can still tell that this is not natural. Her body has clearly been oiled to catch the light and almost make it look like she's sweating. And even though she is only wearing a bikini, she still has high heels on. Also the positioning of her legs is unnatural, as that would probably not be comfortable. Possibly natural light is coming from above this image, which creates a shadow of her legs onto the mat she is laying on. On a closer look, it appears as though her hands are tied together, as if she is under captive. This relates to the dog, who is possibly there as 'guard dog' to watch over her.

The image is of the model's profile, which is changed completely by the style of her hair. The shape of the hair from this angle at both sides correlate each other perfectly and both sides fall into the same shape. as her hair is quite dark, her face stands out against it more than it would have with the white background. She is looking downwards and we cant really see any defining features of her face. This image is more about the shape of the model rather than the expression/message/setting/props. She is not dead on centre which creates the rule of thirds as the subject of the image is spread out. The lighting is also very carefully thought out, as a shadow is created on her face and more so upper neck. But, her lower neck is in so much light that it almost completely fades into the white background.
The British flag in the background of this photo represents how strong British culture was at the time this photo was taken. The model is lent on her right leg which means she doesn't cover image of the flag, but also means she takes up more space on the frame overall and therefore becomes the main focus, rather than the flag. Her pose- along with her facial expression- also makes her look bored and as if she doesn't want to be there. This particular model (Twiggy) was only a teenager herself at this time and this pose represents the teenagers in society, as they were starting to rebel more. Her outfit also signifies change, as she is wearing quite manly clothes which was never really seen until then. She is also wearing shorts and therefore showing quite a bit of flesh. I think that Donovan's intent when shooting this image was to relate to the teenagers of the time and therefore appeal to a certain demographic.
Although the model in this image is more or less positioned in the centre, she is not standing straight and has her back curved, and her foot pushed out on an angle. she is also turned halfway to the left, so we see a profile of her face which is turned further away, and see almost a frontal shot of her body. Her hand is positioned on her waist, resulting in her arm being jaunted out at a sharp angle and reinforcing the strong pose she pulling. Her hair being up also lets us see her elongated neck, and gives it a feel of elegance and regalness, as does her gown and closed eyes.

This is quite a provocative image. The model appears to be wearing nothing but underwear and stockings, which are very revealing. However, although this image features a lot if sexualisation, it also has some aspects of childhood in there too. She is covering herself with a teddy bear which is obviously a childish object. The bear theme also continues to the hat she has on, which is almost a sort of clear rain hat with bear ears on. This juxtaposition of the sexual features along with the childish ones gives it a 'lolita' feel.
The very dark background in contrast with all the light features of the woman (her hair/skin/dress.) mean that she really stands out in this image. Your eyes are immediately drawn to her, rather than the man carrying her, who is in a black suit, has darker features and therefore doesn't stand out against the backdrop as well. This is also because he is stood straight on, right in the middle of the frame, whereas the woman is on his shoulders, and is lent over in a diagonal shape. This is more pleasing to the eye and grabs more attention. Also, the only apparent light in this image are the street lamps above. She is closer to these and therefore more visible.
Most of the light in this image is on the model's face. It comes from the top right hand corner of the image, which results in the bottom and mainly left side to be in darkness. It also creates a shadow of the model's head as it is tilted slightly. This use of light ensures that most of the focus is on the model's face and upper body, and also helps to accentuate her features such as her cheek bones. She is dressed in rather manly clothes and her hair has been made to look short. She also has minimal makeup on which makes this image a large contrast to the usual 'woman looking glamorous' fashion shoots we see. Her pose is also quite manly, as she appears slouched- probably with her legs open- and has her arm resting on her knee.
