photographing Applegarth

this image is taken from an angle which means a lot of the lines shown are contrasting. the lines of the bannister are directly oppoiste to those of the stairs which means this is quite a confusing image for our eyes to adjust to. however, it does become more interesting and makes the viewer want to look at it longer as they want to figure out what angle it was taken from etc.

the horizontal lines in this image guide the eye to the tree on the right. the bold orange on some of the lines exaggerates this and makes sure we're looking in that area in the first place.

the line of trees in this image means our eyes are guided down the background of the image, creating  large depth of field. the compositon also means that the shadows from the trees put all the buildings into darkness, meaning we dont instantly see them and instead look towards the light area of the ground near the trees and and to the area where the line guides us.
