this image is similar to the one before, but much more focused as the blurry one will not be to everyone's taste.
i like this image because the model is slightly off-centre which makes it more ascetically pleasing. i also means that all the table-wear behind is in full view to the view. the way she is posed means that we can clearly see all the accessories she is wearing and even the position her hand is in means the rings are on show.
I used the macro setting when taking this image so the model's hands appear in focus and the rest of the image behind is blurred. I like this as the main point of the image is the hands and showing off the rings as they are the product being sold, I also like the fact that even though this is just mainly an image of the model's hands, it still links to the rest of the images on the shoot as the blue dress and white apron that we can just see the model is wearing are instantly associated with Alice.
I like this image as it is a lot closer up than the majority of the photos from this shoot and stands out. I think it is framed well as we can see parts of both the fascinator and bowtie which were the main accessories for the mad hatter shoot. I also like the bottle being held up that we can just make out says 'drink me' which is clear Alice in Wonderland iconography. I think it adds more to the image and makes it more interesting as somebody looking at this image would continue looking to see what the writing in the bottle said. I also think the colours in the image have been well thought of as the red of the fascinator and the green of the curtains contrast and look quite eye-catching. they also relate to Christmas as this shoot is for a Christmas issue.
this image is very simple and hardly no props are used. i think that because she is standing so formally with her hand on the chair, she looks quite regal and this works perfectly for the white queen. this again means that it fits in with the fantasy, alice in wonderland look i was trying to achieve. the wedding dress is also vintage which means that it also fits the magazines brief.
I really like the lighting in this image. I used lights on both sides of the subject, but had the model stand nearest the one on her left. This meant that no harsh shadows were created but there was still a nice subtle difference in the lighting on either side and I think the strong light shining on her gives quite an ethereal effect which is what I was going for with the quite queen shoot.
I like this image as it feels like it is almost a POV shot. the camera is very close to the subject but the model is still not looking and I think that this makes it quite personal and involves the viewer of the image. it makes them want to know what she's reading and it would also make them feel quite Christmassy which is what I intended, as it looks really cosy and the model clearly has a Christmas jumper on.
I like this image because although it was took outside, we can still see all the décor on the table inside that alice is looking which is a selling point. I also like the fact that we can see the model's reflection in the glass and I think that this again fits in with the Alice theme perfectly as it reminds me of 'through the looking glass'.
